Young Speaker: Quick Thinking (1st-3rd)

Our focus on practical speaking skills also helps students become more comfortable expressing themselves in various situations.
Quick Thinking Challenge: Embrace the spontaneity of impromptu speaking! Campers will engage in fun, impromptu speech activities, sharpening their ability to think on their feet and communicate effectively.
Engaging in impromptu speech activities, campers will learn to think quickly, organize their thoughts on the spot, and deliver coherent and compelling responses to unexpected prompts.
This ability to think on their feet and communicate effectively will apply in the real world by preparing campers to navigate spontaneous situations (teacher calling to answer a question in school), handle unexpected challenges, and communicate confidently in various social and academic settings.
Deliverable: Campers will participate in an impromptu speaking mini-tournament at the end of the camp showcasing their quick thinking and communication skills as they respond to prompts and engage in lively discussions.
Prerequisite: None
Recommended Next Steps: Additional Young Speaker Camp or Little Orator Essentials Class.
